Before starting oak+stone, I spent almost 10 years working in business banking within one of Australia's Big Four banks.
I learnt a lot during that time. I worked with great people, saw thousands of business lending scenarios, and developed a deep understanding of how banks assess risk, opportunities and business owners.
But I'd always wanted to build something of my own - So, I backed myself.
I thanked my boss and the bank for their support, and started my own small business - oak+stone from scratch.
Today, we have helped hundreds of business owners across Australia borrow the money they need to grow their business and grow their personal wealth.
The trust and responsibility to deliver is something we take very seriously.
We've always believed business owners are some of the unsung heroes of the Australian economy. They take risks, create jobs, support local communities and often carry more stress and responsibility than most people will ever realise.
They deserve someone in their corner who genuinely cares about their success.
That's what oak+stone is all about.
Helping good people build great businesses, take advantage of opportunities, and create the life they want for themselves and their families.
And if we can make the finance side of things a little less complicated along the way, even better.
